BİLGEİŞ OPENING CONFERENCE

“Capacity Development of Employees and Employers via Information and Communication Technologies Project (BİLGEİŞ)” which is implemented within the framework of financial cooperation between European Union – Turkey by Middle East Technical University (METU) is introducing itself to the public by the Opening Event in Ankara Grand Rixos Hotel in March 10, 2016. High level representatives of METU, Ministry of Labor and Social Security Directorate of European Union and Financial Assistance (HRD PRO), European Union Delegation to Turkey (EUD) will participate to the event as well as the representatives of stakeholders such as Chambers, Universities, Continuous Education Centers, relevant NGO’s and SME’s. 

Before the event, breakfast meeting with press will take place in a separate hall, which METU, HRD PRO and EUD representatives will discuss the project with the members of the media. Then breakfast meeting participants will pass to the event hall together with the other guests. 

The event will start with the opening remarks of protocol guests; Prof. Dr. Volkan Atalay, Vice President and METU Operations Manager, MR. XX, Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MoLSS) Representative and Mr. François BEGEOT, Counsellor, Head of Section for Economic and Social Development. 

After the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Kürşat ÇAĞILTAY from METU will make a brief presentation about “Information and Communication Technologies in Turkey”. After MR. Çağıltay SME representative will inform the guest on “Use of Information and Communication Technologies in SMEs”. After the coffee break Ms. Sonja Priscan BİLGE-İŞ Project Team Leader, will make a presentation about the aims, activities and final outcomes of the project. As the final speaker BİLGEİŞ Project Expert and Statistician Oğuzhan Akyıldırım will present the results of SME needs Analysis Survey Results which he conducted in 5 pilot provinces. In the afternoon session there will be a two-hour SWOT analysis meeting which aims to define the framework of training and demands of the labor market. The participants will be divided in four groups in order to get the optimum data. Each group will be accompanied by a moderator. Groups are presented below: 

– Chambers, Government Reps. 
– Universities, CEC’S 
– Techno parks, OIZ’s 
– SME’s 

The event will be closed after a 45 minute plenary session.
