Bilgeİş Clarification Text

We aim to inform you transparently about how your personal data are collected, the purposes of data processing, the legal reasons, and your rights by Article 10 of the "Personal Data Protection Law" No. 6698 and in line with your satisfaction.

       a) Data Supervisor

In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, your personal data will be collected and processed by Bilgeİş as a data supervisor within the scope described below.

       b) For What Purposes Personal Data Will Be Processed

Your collected personal data will be processed to:

• Carry out the necessary procedures to help you benefit from bilgeis.net services,
• Promote bilgeis.net activities,
• Help relevant people benefit from the educational services offered by bilgeis.net,
• Conduct academic research studies about bilgeis.net,

within the scope of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 6698.

      c) To Whom and For What Purposes the Processed Personal Data Can Be Transferred

Your collected personal data can be transferred to business partners, the collaborating consultants and contracted organizations, or payment systems organizations within the framework of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of Law No. 6698 to continue educational activities on bilgeis.net, to ensure the legal and commercial security of people who are in business relations with bilgeis.net, to carry out legal compliance processes, to perform fiscal and financial affairs, and to determine and fulfill commercial and business strategies.  

      d) Means and Legal Reasons of Personal Data Collection

Your personal data collected through written/digital applications made to the websites, your browsing actions on the website, channels through which Bilgeİş communicates with you, or through which it may communicate in the future are stored throughout their legal period. Your personal data collected with these means can be processed and transferred for the purposes specified in the articles (b) and (c) of this clarification text within the scope of the personal data processing conditions and purposes specified in Articles 5 and 6 of Law No. 6698.

      e) Rights of Personal Data Owner Enumerated in Article 11 of Law No. 6698

As personal data owners, if you submit your requests regarding your rights to Bilgeİş through the following means, Bilgeİş will finalize the request as soon as possible and free of charge within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, Bilgeİş will charge the fee in the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board. In this context, personal data owners can:

• learn whether their personal data are processed and request information about them if they are processed,
• learn the purpose of personal data processing and learn whether they are used appropriately in line with the purpose,
• know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred domestically or abroad,
• request correction of processed personal data in case of incomplete or incorrect processing and request notification of the processing made within this scope to third parties to whom personal data are transferred,
• request the deletion or destruction of personal data if the reasons requiring their processing disappear although they have been processed by Law No. 6698 and other relevant provisions, and request notification of the transaction made within this scope to the third parties to whom the personal data have been transferred to,
• object to the occurrence of a result against the person themself after analyzing the processed data exclusively through automated systems,
• have the right to demand the compensation of the damage in case of the damage caused by the personal data's unlawful processing.

If you submit your requests regarding your rights listed above to the Data Supervisor by the application procedures stipulated in the Communiqué on Application to Data Supervisor Procedures and Principles to info@bilgeis.net, your request will be finalized free of charge as soon as possible and within 30 (thirty) days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request. However, if the transaction requires an additional cost, Bilgeİş may request the fee in the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.

     f) Application

To use your rights stated above, you can send your request containing the necessary information identifying your identity and your explanations about your rights stated in the 11^th Article of the Law No. 6698 to 'Middle East Technical University Distance Education Center, 06800, Ankara.' You can also bring those documents in person, send them through notary channels or other means mentioned in Law No. 6698.
