BİLGEİŞ Project team visited their stakeholders on 7-8 April in their premises in Izmir. In the scope of stakeholder visits, the team gave information about the project and the portal while exchanging views on potential opportunities for cooperation. Visits started off with Dokuz Eylul University’s Technology Development Zone (DEPARK). After discussions with Prof Dr Murat Ozgoren, Vice President and Assoc. Prof Dr Engin Ozgul, the project team learned about Depark’s joint activities with SMEs and R&D activities. The team went on to visit the Chamber of Commerce of Izmir, where they interviewed Birol Efe, Director of Research, Entrepreneurship and Professional Development department. Efe shared the results of IZTO’s “Emerging Sectors in Izmir” study with the team. On the second day of visits, BILGEIS team visited Yasar University where they met Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Ozarslan and Assoc. Prof.Dr. Sabah Balta, Director of Continuing Education Centre (YUCEC) at Yasar University. The project team were briefed about e-learning activities held by the University and activities organised by the continuing education centre and they shared details of project events and activities. Last but not least, BILGEIS team visited the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry (EBSO), meeting Ezel Hepdüzyol, Head of Project Development and Training Department and Arzu Betül Yalabık, Training Expert. Hepdüzyol talked about the SME School that was established within EBSO and training programmes it offers to SMEs, sharing her views on potential collaborations.
