FIRST ICT AND BUSINESS WORLD SEMINAR IS ORGANISED IN ANKARA

Within the scope of Bilgeİş project, the first step of the Seminars on Computing and Business, which was planned to be realized in 5 pilot cities (Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Eskişehir, Gaziantep) was held on March 15, 2017, hosted by Ankara Chamber of Commerce.

Approximately 100 people, including President of Ankara Chamber of Commerce Gürsel Baran, Vice Rector of the Middle East Technical University Dr. Gönül Sayan, Instructor of the Department of Computer and Instructional Technology Education Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay, executives of the relevant stakeholders and representatives of the Business World have attended the meeting.

Gürsel Baran, President of Ankara Chamber of Commerce, who made the opening speech, said that “Bilgeİş Project will contribute to the economy of our country by improving the human resources of SMEs(small and medium sized enterprises)”, stating that workers and employers can be educated through their computers or tablets and smart phones from their homes or businesses as in open university model and added that “ Bilgeİş Project will contribute to the economy of our country by improving the human resources of SMEs”

After Prof. Baran, Professor. Dr. Gönül Sayan recalled that METU, the most prestigious brand in Turkey in the field of education and research, entered the top 100 in the ranking of the world’s most respected universities in 2014. Saying that the project is a collective service project, Sayan added that Turkey’s Human Resources aim to profit more effectively from METU ‘s achievements.

Following the opening speeches, Bilten General Manager Sevilay İmre made a presentation about the importance of online training as he overcame the challenges of today’s economic conditions. Miss /Mrs. Dilek Lule, Assistant General Manager of Keys Consulting, who took the word after İmre, spoke under the headline “The Importance of Digital Capabilities in SMEs “. As a Good Practice Example of SMEs, Founder of Idealisg, Şenay Özdemir explained how the information and communication systems affected the business in a positive way.

At the afternoon session, Business Administration Instructor Serdar Bilecen from Bilkent University Faculty of Business Administration and TUCCE(Turkish union of chambers and commodity exchange) & Faculty of EAS (Economics and Administrative Sciences) gave the training of Brand Perception Management and Persuasion Techniques Training . The whole day ended after the training event.
